Andrew Taher
Andrew hand-builds one-of-a-kind guitars in Tijeras, New Mexico, in the East Mountains just east of Albuquerque, and takes them on the road to art fairs around the country — where most people meet a Vintage Box Guitar for the first time.
Every guitar he makes is one of a kind, built from a different cigar box, license plate, or other salvaged material and named for it. It’s the opposite of mass production: one pair of hands, one build, one instrument at a time.

Andrew, the maker behind Vintage Box Guitars, brings decades of musical experience to every instrument he builds. A lifelong musician with years spent on the road, his guitars are shaped by both performance and craftsmanship.
Each piece is individually handcrafted using woods like poplar, walnut, oak, and mahogany, with unique scale lengths, tunings, and quality humbucker pickups — the detail owners consistently single out. From raw and rustic to electrified and bold, these guitars aren’t just objects to admire—they’re built to play and made to be heard.
